FILM (If you
are supplying film)

- Color separated (one film per color with specified ink PMS
color clearly marked on each piece of film). Film size must be 8" x 8" minimum.
- Artwork should exhibit sharp resolution and should be free
from scratches.
- Recommended line screen is 85 LPI.
LINE WIDTH, TYPE
SIZE & TRAPPING
- Minimum line width is 1 Pt.
- Minimum letter size is 4 Pt. bold. Serif typefaces should be
6 pt. minimum.
- Minimum line width in knockout form is 1 Pt.
- Minimum letter size in knockout form is 6 Pt. bold.
- Choke/Spread of 0.5 pt. to be applied whenever
conditions permit.
REGISTRATION
- Customer supplied film
positives require centerline registration marks less than .l mm (.25 pt.): a pair on the
horizontal axis and a pair on the vertical axis - each mark to be 3.5" o/c.
INK COLORS
- Ink colors, coated only (CV), from the Pantone
Matching System Book are available (uncoated colors are not available).
- Colors printed on discs may vary from paper printing
colors. Please allow for (+ or -) 1/2 shade deviation tolerances.
- Colors may not reproduce accurately when they are
overprinted.
If printing inside; the 46mm DIA, color may vary due to mirror band and/or clear inner
hub
SCREEN
TINTS
- Dot
density of screen tints and vignettes should be limited between 15% and 85% and
should utilize and elliptical dot at 85 lines per inch with a screen angle of 45
degrees.
- Printing
of graduated tone or vignettes may encounter banding (changing of densities in distinct
steps instead of gradually) throughout the image. Banding can be avoided by limiting the
total range to a 30% spectrum, (I.e. from 60% to 80% tonal values).
- Optimum
reproduction of artwork requires that color separations compensate for the dot gain/loss
inherent in the screen printing process. See table of dot gain/loss listed below.

jobs, unless otherwise specified.
- A match print, color-key, or an equivalent color
proof must be provided with color separated films, or electronic art, for each four color
process job.
- Screen angles for process work are Y=0, C=15, M= 75,
K= 135.
- Dot shape should be elliptical (hard dot required).
- Indicate on film, order of printing (1 of 4, 2 of 4,
etc.).
- In-house generation of color separations from
customer supplied artwork provided in electronic format, is the preferred method for
process color screen-printing.
ELECTRONIC
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS (If not supplying Film)
- Line art should be scanned at 1200 dpi minimum.
Continuous tone black/white and color images intended for halftone reproduction should be

Replacement (GCR): 80% recommended.
